Blue Resilience project's concept

 Time to share the blue Resilience project's concept: 

I was not yet ready to confide myself, but the sharing, the knowledge is something precious that i learned, and it is the duty of the artists to share their vision, their concept as much as their art work. 

This series of 13 art works in total, called resilience Blue Project  corresponds to a pivotal period in our carrier, a turning point that is at the origin of our current style freer than ever.

In February 2016, stop to play, we have to face a terrible battle against Cancer that hit me violently leaving me only 3 months. NOWAY  !

"Veni, vidi, vici!"

In late 2017, end of treatments, and any danger seems now dismissed. Case closed !

 

Then i felt the need to create this Resilience Blue, a powerful blue, an electric blue symbol of the bubbling of life, of the rebirth to which I opposed the black of pessimism, of lost time.

First of all, the color blue reminds us of a calm state of mind, an idea of eternity and calmness. Blue is a color that symbolizes peace, calm, serenity, freshness but also the sensitivity.

Black is a color that symbolizes dull rather negative values. 
Black reminds us of the fear, the anxiety, the unknown, loss, emptiness and death.

 Off put the duality of these two colors, that I could develop again and again,this series also represents a challenge mixing analog and digital. Kind of logical conclusion of our art work and research since the early 90s.

Precursors of this style mixing graffiti and vector in all our productions, murals and pictorial, it was the time to dedicate a digital painting hommage in a new serie.

The contributions of the vector are found in our productions of drawings and what is produced by hand is found on computer.

Now, it is the turn of the analogue to become digital;

- I explain myself, just as an example; we painted vector blurs with acrylic, and if you move away from the canvas, in the same way that digital technology allows it by pixilation, and by a similar optical effect, the blur is created.

The presence of our minimalist desire to use only two color as an exercise of style in reference to our famous motto "Style Is The Message" and the importance of having a maximum of style while remaining uncluttered.

 No artifice, glitter or multiple colors, to hide a creative void,  only style matters, you can't lie with 2 colors. 

This kind of challenge was something we used to do between graffiti writers back in the days in Europe, something we used to call " five minute battle ";

One piece of paper, one word, one pencil ! Only style will make the difference. 

Obviously, each work is painted freehand with acrylic, no cache, all on wooden supports allowing continuity of designs on the edges of the art work offering each piece, a modern and contemporary touch. 

In a perpetual desire to remain free and creatively independent, we have always had to work hard and remain multidisciplinary. This resilience serie was also the beginning of a new age in our painting.

 that's why this Blue resilience serie is something really rare and particular in our own carrier. 

Limited in time, and in number of  13 pieces, whithout the need to explain the meaning of this number too.

Corresponding to a certain periode of our life, to a need to close this dark past.

 

 

In fact, all our new canvases get something vibrant, recollection from this first Résilience blue power.

All or new creation are full of this need to life, more than need to exist.
